The Dialog Cafe
Vero Gallery x The Dialog Café
At Vero Gallery, we believe art shouldn't just live on gallery walls; it should be part of your everyday life. That is why our curatorial team is thrilled to partner with The Dialog Café, transforming this vibrant Toronto bistro into a dynamic satellite venue for exceptional local art.
As you enjoy The Dialog’s specialty espresso bar, fresh pastries, and incredible all-day, every-day brunch, you’ll be surrounded by a rotating collection of artwork thoughtfully curated by the Vero Gallery team. It’s a cozy, creative neighbourhood space where food, culture, and community truly connect.
Whether you're stopping by for a comforting hot dish, grabbing a sandwich, or settling in for a great conversation, you're always steps away from fresh inspiration. Come for the coffee, stay for the culture!
Artist Statement
Maryam Ebrahimi is a Toronto-based artist known for her limited colour palettes, layered compositions, and seamless brushwork. Her paintings explore depth, movement, and hidden elements, inviting viewers to discover unexpected textures and details within each work.
Her collection Fly Me Away explores themes of love, family, migration, and isolation. Inspired by her experience of moving to Canada and being separated from family during the pandemic, feather-like brushstrokes and bird forms emerge from the canvas as symbols of longing, connection, and belonging. Drawing on her Persian heritage, the bird forms also reference the first letter of the Farsi alphabet.
Through layered surfaces, transparent glazes, and contrasting textures, Ebrahimi creates a delicate balance between movement and stillness, connection and distance—reflecting the ongoing interplay of yin and yang in her practice.
