On View August 17th to September 27th

Every human being is a walking archive of experiences. We are not just what we show to the world on a given day; we are a complex accumulation of everything we have ever felt, lost, learned, and buried. We are built in layers. "Under the Surface" draws a direct, poetic parallel between the inner architecture of the human mind and the physical process of creating abstract, mixed-media, and collage art.

Catching the Breeze
Maryam Ebrahimi & Jess Mitchell

Catching the Breeze brings together the complementary abstract worlds of Jess Mitchell and Maryam Ebrahimi to explore the tension between movement and stillness. This midsummer exhibition pairs the sweeping, fluid flight of Ebrahimi’s Fly Me Away collection with the grounding, intimate boundaries of Mitchell’s “closer, closer, stop” series, inviting viewers to chase the open horizon while finding a profound moment to pause.

Beyond
Colour & Form
Nancy Benoy and Mike Hansen

Beyond Colour and Form brings together the works of Nancy and Mike in an exploration that moves past the visible surface of painting into something more intuitive and felt. While colour and form remain at the core of each piece, they are not the destination; they are the language through which deeper ideas unfold

Waves of Becoming
Taruna Singh & Karen Klucowicz

Waves of Becoming pairs the elemental with the human. Taruna Singh explores the timeless forces of earth, water, fire, air, and space, while Karen Klucowicz examines identity, resilience, and healing through expressive figurative abstraction. Together, their work reflects the shared rhythms of nature and human transformation.

in search of a
Quiet Mind
Melanie Cheung

This body of work explores painting as catharsis. The series emerged from a desire to step away from outcome-driven thinking, to instead inhabit a state of flow, where the act of making becomes its own purpose. While reaching a state of calm is the intention, my process itself is often restless. I work quickly and intuitively, revising, deconstructing, and reconstructing compositions. Through abstraction, my practice explores quiet, unresolved emotional states.
