Ghost Variables is a dynamic Hamilton-based collective of improvisers, composers, and sound artists, including Gary Barwin, Connor Bennett, Mike Hansen, David Lee, and Chris Palmer

Rooted in improvisation and free jazz, their work explores the unseen layers of sound—where one piece of music seems to echo another. There’s always a sense of what music could have been, what lingers after it fades, and the forms that appear only briefly before dissolving. Translucent harmonies, ghost-like melodies, and fleeting structures shape an experience that feels both present and otherworldly.
